Setup
From adding the bot to the first alert in five minutes. Everything step by step, including billing and troubleshooting.
1. The bot in Telegram
- 1Add the bot to your team group and send /start there — the group becomes a team and you are its owner.
- 2Playing solo? Open the bot in a private chat and send /start.
- 3You can also create a team on the site and attach a group with a code: send /connect CODE in the group (the code is in the Members tab).
- 4Invite others: /invite gives a link; whoever opens it joins the team and gets alerts in private.
- 5Give the bot chat a loud, separate ringtone — on Free it is the main alert channel.
2. Link Rust+ (once, one minute)
- 1On a computer open companion-rust.facepunch.com/login.
- 2Before logging in press F12 → Console, paste the line below and press Enter.
- 3Log in with Steam. A popup shows the token — copy it.
- 4Send /link TOKEN to the bot in a private chat, or paste the token in the dashboard → Rust+.
- 5The token grants access to Rust+ notifications only, not to Steam. Stored encrypted, renewed automatically every 14 days. Unlink with /unlink.
window.ReactNativeWebView={postMessage:m=>prompt('Rust+ token:',JSON.parse(m).Token)}3. In game
- 1Esc → Rust+ → Pair With Server.
- 2Walk to the Smart Alarm → hold E → Pair. Same for Smart Switch and Storage Monitor if you want.
- 3📷 Cameras: place a CCTV on your base, set its code and add it in the dashboard (Live → Cameras) or with /cam add CODE. The “Watch” button opens a live view: the frame refreshes itself, a PTZ camera can be turned by dragging and zoomed, and a turret can fire and reload. On an alarm the bot sends a frame to Telegram on its own, so you see who is breaking in. A hard Rust limit: cameras only work while the paired account is out of the game — great at night, useless during your own fight.
- 4The Smart Alarm must be powered and wired to a sensor (Heartbeat Sensor, pressure pad, door).
- 5Test the whole chain with /test — with your phone locked.
4. Phone call (cabinet plans)
- 1/callme — a Telegram call. Needs a @username and calls from non-contacts allowed, or the dialer account in your contacts.
- 2/phone +1… — a robot call to a regular number if Twilio is enabled. Works without internet on the phone.
- 3/mode — call and messages, call only, or messages only. /quiet 09:00-18:00 — quiet hours for work.
- 4A new team gets every feature free for 7 days. The bot reminds 3 days and 1 day before the end; after that the team drops to Free until you pick a plan. A promo code goes into the dashboard next to the plan picker and discounts the first payment.
- 5Call limit: 100 per month per person (Lifetime — 30). /limits shows what is left.
- 6Quiet after a raid: once acknowledged, repeated triggers do not call again for 5 minutes; a short digest arrives once a minute. The window extends while sensors keep firing. Setting: /cooldown 5 or Dashboard → Settings.
- 7⚠️ Important: the Rust update of 6 August 2026 stripped every map marker except your own team from Rust+. Cargo, patrol heli, Chinook, crates, Bradley and vending machines are no longer sent to anyone — neither to this bot nor to the official Rust+ app. The commands below say so honestly while the markers are missing, and start working again on their own if Facepunch restores them.
- 8⚠️ In-game commands (.cargo, .heli, .upkeep, .cam, .enemy, .ping) go into the Rust TEAM chat, not the global one: press T, then Tab to switch tabs. In global chat the server itself swallows them and the bot never sees them. If the server strips “!”, other prefixes work too: dot, hash and slash. Check the link with .ping.
- 9World events: /world — everything, /cargo, /heli, /chinook, /crates, /small, /large, /oilrig, /bradley, /vendor. The bot posts when cargo enters and docks, the heli arrives or goes down, the Chinook drops a crate, an oil rig hack starts and when the crate unlocks, Bradley is destroyed. Choose what to send with /notify or Dashboard → Settings.
5. Smart filters and groups
- 1/filters — sensitivity per alarm: 1 = alert immediately, 3 = only a series of three within 2 minutes.
- 2/group 2 North wall — sensors on one wall count together and raise one alert.
6. Enemies online
- 1/enemy add SteamID or a Steam profile link. The bot tells you when the enemy joins or leaves your server.
- 2Works while the enemy profile is public.
7. Discord (optional)
- 1Invite the bot to your Discord server — the "Add the bot to Discord" link in the dashboard, Members tab.
- 2In the channel where alarms should land, send the same /connect CODE command you use for a Telegram group. You need Manage Server.
- 3The bot needs View Channel and Send Messages there — otherwise the link is useless, and it will tell you so.
- 4After that it works like Telegram: the alarm with its ACK button, commands in the channel, /dashboard with a link to the cabinet. Unlink with /disconnect.
8. Dashboard and billing
- 1Sign in with Telegram: the widget or the "Sign in via the bot" button.
- 2The team owner buys a plan in the Subscription tab. The first subscription starts with 7 free days.
- 3Switching Cabinet 12 ↔ 30 applies immediately with proration. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month; you can change your mind.
- 4Lifetime replaces the subscription forever. Invoices and card — in Stripe, from the dashboard.
9. Troubleshooting
- 1No reply to /start in a group — check the bot is a member and not blocked.
- 2No pushes — /link again: the token may have expired while the bot was down.
- 3Rust+ cannot reach the server — app.port is closed on the server; ask the server admin.
- 4The alarm never fires — power, sensor, and Pair with the same Steam account that is linked.
